Welcome to Barton

We are a contemporary Christian Church that believes the Christian faith leads to transformation of individuals, communities and culture.

The heart of Jesus’ message is that God loves us as we are but loves us too much to leave us that way! We believe the Bible is an essential part of our faith as through it God has revealed something of who He is and how He works.

Most of all, through the Bible we find out about Jesus – his mission and teaching and what it means for us today.

Our Sunday mornings start at Canterbury College at 10:00am. The service starts at 10:30am with coffee and doughnuts beforehand, and finishes about 12:00pm. We have a range of activities for children and a crèche.

Our primary aim on Sunday mornings is that we genuinely meet with and hear from God. Contemporary and engaged musical worship is an important part of our services. Understanding the Bible is also crucial and so we have a strong emphasis on teaching the Bible in a way that helps us to better know God and to live in the light of its truth. Our services are informal, there is no dress code, new people are never asked to do anything they don’t want to do and no-one will ask you for money.

There is a very large car park and the entrance to the college is clearly signposted.
