Barton Church In-person Services

We have been running in-person Sunday gatherings at Barton Church since May and now have new guidelines following the governments easing of COVID restrictions on 19th July.

You are welcome to attend any of our services, which have the same service theme and Bible teaching theme.

Sundays @ Canterbury, 10.30am

Canterbury College, Main Hall, CT1 3AJ

Sundays @ Online, 10.30am Live Stream

Barton Church Live, on our YouTube Barton Church Live channel by clicking here.

Sundays @ Faversham, 4pm

West Faversham Community Centre, ME13 7RH

We have Creche, Kids Church and Youth work at both of our Sunday services.

What will church be like now that most COVID restrictions have been lifted?

  • We want to create an environment that every feels welcomed in and safe to attend
  • We will continue to encourage mask wearing and other ways of ensuring we minimise the transmission of COVID-19
  • This is because we have many in our community that are vulnerable and anxious about the virus
  • We also recognise the biblical priority of loving one another and making church accessible to as many people as possible in our community

You might be asking…

  1. Do I need to book on? No, we have plenty of space
  2. Should I wear a mask? Masks are welcome and encouraged. However, we do recognise mask wearing is a personal choice and so we ask you not to judge those that choose not to wear one for whatever reason and to focus on uniting in Jesus not mask wearing!
  3. Are we still socially distancing? Yes, we will use the space to provide some social distancing where possible.
  4. Can we sing? Yes, at last!

Some of the other things we continue to encourage include taking a Lateral Flow Test before attending our services and making sure that you do not attend if you have any COVID-19 symptoms in line with government guidance.

We know that church will continue to feel different, but we are so glad that we can now sing together and also have the children with us for the start of our service.

Please do contact us for more information about our services as we would love to help you to confidently attend or access our online services via YouTube channel, Barton Church Live.

Students If you are a student we want to welcome you to our Canterbury service and would love to help you grow in faith. You are very welcome to join us in-person or online and please contact bartonchurchstudents@gmail.com for information about how you can become a part of our community as a student.

Caring for our congregations and community
At this difficult time, we are working to support those in our congregations in Canterbury and Faversham as well as the wider community. If you are in need of any help, please do let us know by emailing alice@bartonchurch.org.uk.

Christianity Explored
We regularly run Christianity Explored courses, which is a 10-week course on Zoom finding out about the Bible, Jesus’ life death and resurrection through the eyes of Mark’s gospel. Please let us know or contact us for more information if you are interested in this. We would love for you to join us and find out who Jesus is, what he said, did and why he died on a cross.

Sign up to our weekly emails for more regular updates about our provisions and services by filling in one of our next steps forms. https://bartonchurch.org.uk/next-steps/
