Activities & Groups

Life Groups

Small groups that form the heart of the Barton Church community.

Life Groups meet weekly in various homes in Canterbury, Faversham and the surrounding area. Groups currently meet on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, as well as during the day on Friday. As a part of sharing life together, the groups will host regular lunches, and social events and provide opportunities to serve others. If you’d like to join a Life Group please email office@bartonchurch.org.uk

Barton Worship Night

Monthly Evening of Worship

Barton Worship Night happens monthly on Friday evenings and we aim to provide space for the church to meet with God through an extended time of sung worship and creative prayer. This is also an opportunity for intercessory and individual prayer, which enables us to respond to who God is. Keep an eye out on our website and socials for the dates.

Seedlings

Toddler and baby group

Seedlings is a Canterbury-based toddler and baby group run by members of Barton Church on Thursdays at 10:00am,  32 Barton Road, during term time.

We aim to provide a welcoming, fun and safe space for mums and dads, grandparents and carers to bring their children to play. Each session consists of free play, snack time, crafts and singing.

Seedlings is free for the first visit and then £1 per family each week after that.

Community Café

A group for the elderly and members of the community to come together.

32 Barton Road, 10:00am every third Wednesday of the month

Community Cafe is a group that meets every 3rd Wednesday at 32 Barton Road. It is aimed primarily at reaching the elderly within the community and provides a safe space for friendships to grow as well as engaging in crafts, trips and other activities.

Monday 5-A-Side and Barton FC

Enjoy the beautiful game!

This is a great opportunity for the men within the church to enjoy the ‘beautiful game’ together. You don’t have to be a certain standard – it is open to all abilities and is a non-competitive evening of indoor football at Simon Langton Boys School at 8pm. We enjoy playing short matches and find that this is a great way of getting to know one another more as men in the church.

Mum’s the Word

Fortnightly Bible Study for Mums

Mum’s The Word is a Bible study, run specifically for mothers who are looking to meet others and study the Bible.

A crèche is provided for your children, enabling you to focus on the study, knowing that your children are safe and happy playing nearby.
