Seedlings is a Canterbury-based toddler and baby group run by members of Barton Church.

We aim to provide a fun and safe space for mums and dads, grandparents and carers to bring their children to play. Each session consists of free play, snack time, craft and singing. Snack time is not just for the kids - there will always be yummy biscuits and cakes to go with your cuppa!

We also plan outings, once a term, to local soft play areas or playgrounds, and run the occasional social for the grown-ups too!

We are a friendly and welcoming group, so if you are looking for the opportunity to get to know other local people, form friendships or just want to spend some time playing with your children, do come along and visit. We always look forward to seeing new people.

Seedlings is free for the first visit and then £1 per family each week after that.

Monday evenings

This is a great opportunity for the men within the church to enjoy the ‘beautiful game’ together. You don’t have to be a certain standard, it is open to all abilities and is a non-competitive evening of indoor football. We enjoy playing short matches and find that this is a great way of getting to know one another more, as men in the church.

Saturday mornings at Thanington Recreation Pitch

We also have a team in the East Kent Churches Football League. This is for those players seeking a more competitive football environment and is a chance to play against other local church teams. We find this is a good way of developing friendships and inviting others into the community plus means we get to enjoy competing against our local church rivals!
