Here you will find all the most up to date information about how Barton Church is responding to the Coronavirus pandemic. Keep checking in with this page for updates and changes.
We will continue to meet online for our Sunday gatherings and Life groups. Unfortunately, due to the national lockdown, we have had to suspend all our in-person services and activities such as Together Prayer, Youth and Children’s work. In the meantime, we are encouraging people to keep in regular contact with one another and meet up with 1 person in a public space for a walk/exercise and encouragement, which is in line with the new government guidelines.
We are developing firmer plans to meet in-person for our Sunday services and anticipate this will be in spring 2021. When we come out of lockdown and assuming it is safe to do so we will re-start Together Prayer, Youth, and Kids activities, but this is unlikely to be before March 2021.
Barton Church Live
You can find us every Sunday at 10:30am on our YouTube Barton Church Live channel by clicking here. We are starting a new preaching series called ‘Justice’, learning about God’s heart for justice, engaging with some of the current justice issues and how God calls us to be a community of care, compassion and action.
Students If you are a student we want to welcome you to Canterbury and would love to help you grow in faith. You are very welcome to join us online and please contact email@example.com for information about our student work.
Caring for our congregations and community
At this difficult time, we are working to support those in our congregations in Canterbury and Faversham as well as the wider community. If you are in need of any help, please do let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are excited to announce our Christianity Explored is planning to re-start! If you would like to be part of this short 10-week course on Zoom, please let us know or contact us for more information. We would love for you to join us and find out who Jesus is, what he said, did and why he died on a cross.
