Hello and welcome to Canterbury! This is a great place to live and study and we hope you have a brilliant time here.
We’d love to support and encourage you through your time at university. We know how important it is to be connected with other Christians during this time and don’t want Covid-19 to get in the way of this! Barton is a great place to meet other students and also feel part of a wider church family. There are loads of opportunities to be involved in church life at Barton as well as being part of our student group.
Campus Christian Unions do a great job in helping Christians connect with one another and in making Jesus known in the university. We’re firm believers in their work, and we encourage our student members to get along to CU events to benefit from and take part in the amazing work that they do.
This year we are running a student and young adult Life Group. This is a place for food and fun. A place where we can build relationships and grow in our faith as we study the Bible together. It’s a place where there are no stupid questions and no one needs to give the ‘right answer.’
We want to meet in person as much as we can, whilst remaining safe during the Covid-19 outbreak. So we’ve come up with some creative solutions to what this Life Group will look like until the restrictions can ease. Keep checking our social media platforms for more info!
The highlight of the year is always the Student Weekend Away in the Spring Term. We leave Canterbury and spend the weekend relaxing, eating, worshipping and hearing from God’s Word.
We have every intention of running the Weekend Away again this year and have plenty of time to figure out whether that will be in-person or online!
Whether we’ve known you for years or whether you’re new to Barton, we love hanging out and and getting to know you! If you’d like the opportunity to find out more about us or you just fancy a chat, then please get in contact using the form below or send us a message on our social media platforms.
